Achievements

Many years of self employment in a variety of businesses and assessing different opportunities helped me to develop commercial awareness. During my business life I’ve earned transferable skills such as communication, negotiation, and problem solving. I’ve achieved high calibre analytical and research skills from advanced courses I took during my education. I’m a genuine self starter and a constant learner.

MSc (Merit) Investment Banking; Sep 2007 – Apr 2009; University of Salford, UK

I’ve developed my analytical and technical skills by attending a variety of courses. I studied valuation and pricing of financial instruments including derivatives, mergers and acquisitions, quantitative analysis, qualitative equity analysis, portfolio construction, financial crisis, and value investing. My dissertation subject was ‘A Study of Relation between Retained Earnings and Earnings Growth for Istanbul Stock Exchange Companies’. I’ve achieved a Masters Degree with Merit as a result of my cumulative GPA 69.33. 

BSc Management (H.Honour); Sep 1999 – Jun 2002; Cankaya University, Turkey

This was a four year program, but I’ve managed to accomplish it in three years with a first level degree. I’ve graduated 2^nd overall of Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. I’ve achieved the title of High Honour Student with a cumulative GPA of 3.51/4. I’ve attended advanced courses of accounting, auditing, economics, finance and investment, and forecasting.

I’m teaching several courses in economics, accounting, finance, and management. I’ve also appointed as the Head of Accounting and Taxation Department since Feb 2010. I’ve organized a career day last semester with Turk İş Kurumu (Job Centre) and looking for new ways to improve students’ prospects.

As a franchisee of the leading real estate franchise in Turkey- Turyap, I was running Turyap Golbasi in Ankara, Turkey. I was responsible for the company duties both as manager and owner wise. My duties as a real estate consultant were valuation and marketing of real estates, in collaboration with other franchisees.

Construction; July 2002 – Sep 2006; Self Employed

I was hiring construction machinery and equipment. Besides, I was rarely taking small subcontractor jobs.

In addition to construction I have included retail to operations to increase profitability. That gave me the understanding and experience of pricing, product, and marketing in retail. I was keeping purchase and sales ledgers. I was responsible for the company duties both as the manager and the owner wise.
